About NVQs

National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ's) were introduced by the Government in 1986 with the intention of developing a competent workforce to meet employers needs into the 21st century.

The Modern Apprenticeship / NVQ framework offers the opportunity to gain a Nationally recognised qualification which is equivalent to A Level in the key areas of your chosen career. This will help demonstrate your work based competence and improve existing skills to allow you better opportunity for self-advancement and promotion.

NVQ's that are currently available are:-

Level 2 - A broad range of skills and responsibilities Level 3 - Complex, skilled and/or supervisory work
